Stalls FAQs

  • How many stalls are there at the New Romney Country Fayre?

Typically, we have over 100 stalls on the day, spread across St Martin's Field and Fairfield Road Recreation Ground.

  • Is St Martin's Field the better location to have a stall?

No. The Committee have worked very hard to ensure that both fields have an equal programme of good quality all-day entertainment, attracting equal numbers of visitors so that there is no 'main field at the Fayre.

  • Do you have inflatables, such as bouncy castles?

No. Regretfully, we are unable to accept requests to bring activities such as bouncy castles due to health and safety constraints.

  • How is New Romney Country Fayre different to other large scale summer fairs in Kent?

As we are a community event, we like to encourage stallholders from our local area foremost to take part. We always aim to have a blend of local businesses, alongside community organisations so the fayre is a true reflection of all that is good about Romney Marsh.

  • Do you have food stalls at the Country Fayre?

Yes. We always have traditional ice-cream, burgers, hog roast, as well as cakes and vegetarian options. However, we always welcome applications from more unusual catering options. See our Food section for more details.

  • How big is a pitch size at New Romney Country Fayre?

The standard pitch size is 3m x 3m square. However, we will consider bookings for a double-pitch size on a case by case basis.

  • Do I need to bring my own gazebo and table/chairs as a stallholder?

Yes. We are unable to supply gazebos, tables, chairs or a power supply. If you wish to bring your own generator, this must run quietly so as not to disturb your fellow stallholders. You must also bring an appropriate fire extinguisher. Our Safety Officer will inspect all stalls to ensure they comply with our health and safety regulations.

  • I belong to a political party. Can I have a stall to give out leaflets and promote my cause?

Unfortunately not. As an apolitical organisation and event, we do not permit political parties, protest groups or those looking to lobby support for a political cause to take part.
